I watched some of the Royal Variety Performance on BBC TV last night. For my money the best part of the show was seeing Tommy Steel.

Showing my age a bit but Tommy was a rock star with a sense of the comic, or was it the other way around, when I was a pre-teen. – He was a showman.

His performance last night was superb with very little lost over the years.
