Just back from a week out.
We took a week and just wondered around the country, starting with a trip up to Snowdonia which is always a favourite of ours. We spent three days up there doing a bit of walking, swimming and generally relaxing.
As we left Wales on the A5 we decided to turn right and visited Wroxeter, one of the best preserved Roman sites in the UK, and then on to Ironbridge, another fascinating piece of our history.
Without doubt the highlight of the week was a tour round Bletchley Park.
This is where it all happened, the breaking of the Enigma and Lorenz codes and the birth of the computer. We did the 2 hour official tour which was very informative – the guide really knew his stuff – and then just wondered on our own. We spent a fantastic 5 hours there.
