I am down in Reading today for an MSDN briefing at Microsoft and I am sitting in my car writing this, connected with a Vodafone Data Link. Not only can I write this blog entry, but I can log into my home system using a browser and read my e-mail.

Contrast this with work – To read my e-mail at work I need to start up a VPN client, wait often as much as 5 minutes to connect, log in then start up Outlook. The procedure for connecting via the VPN is a bit archaic, the Computer Service department recomend starting up a command prompt and continuously pinging the server to maintain the link – Don’t ask.
