It is every boys dream and I have wanted to do it for years. I have built a model railway; not just the ‘out-of-the-box’ circuit, but a full layout on an 8’ x 6’ board.

At the moment it is a bare board with no buildings or scenery but the track layout is there complete with sidings and turn table, a steam Pullman train, a steam shunter, a diesel shunter and a fair bit of rolling stock all controlled digitally so I can run them all at the same time on the same track; I can even run them in opposite directions on the same track but it’s not advisable.

Now I am starting to build the scenery and buildings – I’ll put some pictures up as i go along
