On 12th September 2010 my wife,Mary, and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary.

We met when I was in Ireland in 1970; she later told me she couldn’t stand me because she thought I was stuck up; we went out twice over the next few months and I invited her back to England for a weeks holiday. She arrived on 24th June and stayed.

We must have done something right because here we are, 40 years later, still in love and enjoying each others company.
