Had the bike serviced and two new tyres yesterday and I have fitted the navigation device. I have done a test pack of the clothing and equipment so I’m ready to go.

I now have just over a week to bed the tyres in and get my bum saddle ready before the off. the first leg for me is down to Basingstoke where I meet up with Brian (brother and ride partner for the trip) and overnight at his daughter, Michele’s. The start proper on the Monday heading for the most Southerly point, the Lizard.

After that it is up to the most Westerly at Ardnamurchan Point, most Northerly at Dunnet Head near John O’Groats and, lastly, Lowestoft in the east; 10 days at roughly 200 miles a day giving plenty of time for sight seeing.
