Back in October I made a prediction that the new PCC would end up costing more than the old police Authority; today I read this story that the Northamptonshire PCC, Adam Simmonds, wants to create 17 posts, 10 more than there were under the old system, including, wait for it, a Chief of Staff and 4 Assistant Commissioners.

Apart from the Americanisation of British politics, with titles like that I bet they don’t come cheap; how many more police posts will have to be cut to fund this when their budget has already been cut?
