For the first time in a long while I welcomed the new year with a cup of tea last night – what’s more I enjoyed it.

Great fireworks display around the London Eye. Must have been a fantastic atmosphere. I had to make do with watching it on TV but for the most part you got the feel of it. I just wish the directors (or whoever it is that chooses the shots) would realise that close ups of fireworks very rarely work – by the time you get the camera on its too late. Much better to go for the wide shot.
